What is the CAL HFA ADU grant?
The ADU Grant provides up to $40,000 to reimburse pre-development and non-reoccurring closing costs associated with the construction of the ADU. Predevelopment costs include site prep, architectural designs, permits, soil tests, impact fees, property survey, and energy reports.
Some basic requirements are below:
– The property owner must meet CalHFA income limits
– You must live in and own property where ADU will be built
– You have to meet a certain credit criteria (usually 680 +)
– Need proof of income (paystubs, bank statements, employment history, previous tax returns)
